Project 2: Week 2 - Textures

This week I will be beginning the model for my character but first I wanted to look at the possible textures that I will be using. My character for most part will be wearing leather, armor and so I will need metallic and leather textures for my character.

Below the image shows an example of the kinds of colours and textures I would like to use.

Character Design:

Below are the steps taken for the design of my character. First by using a rough sketch of the orginal character (Dragon Age 2) for reference and then looking at pieces of clothing and armor I may want.

In order to produce character designs quicker I found a black Character sheet to use as a base for my character (below). The character sheet was from http://stourangeau.deviantart.com/art/Blank-Male-Turnround-Template-208435825

Using the character template above I can up with three possible looks for my character:

In the end I decided to do fourth and add some extra features from the previous ideas. The design below is my final design for my character.

Project 2: Week 1

For my second 3D project the goal is to create and animate an organic model. I have decided to go for creating my own fantasy battle mage. The idea is based on the main poster character for the game 'Dragon Age 2'. (As seen below).

I wish to create a character with a similar style but using different features from my own ideas. I also wish to texture my tattoo onto my character (below) in order to make the character more unique to me.
